Built for group transfer and shuttle work, the 2011 Isuzu GALA MIO is a mid-size Japanese coach seating 46. That is close to a full-size coach load in a bus that still turns and parks easily, and it is why the GALA MIO is such a sought-after used bus for export. The high-floor, step-entrance layout keeps the saloon raised and the outlook open for passengers.
Underneath sits Hino's J07E, a 6,400cc intercooled turbo diesel producing 225 PS in the unusual inline five-cylinder layout developed for rear-engined buses. It is well proven across the GALA MIO, Melpha and Rainbow families, so spares and workshop knowledge travel well overseas. The six-speed manual gearbox gives direct control on gradients and keeps the driveline simple to service.
Rear-wheel drive on twin rear tyres and a double-battery installation back up dependable daily service. Recorded as accident-free and well maintained, it is a sound base for staff shuttles, school runs, hotel transfers and charter work.
