After its global debut in 2022, the sixth-generation Honda CR-V has finally made its way to the Japanese market. The wait is over at the Japan Mobility Show, where Honda introduced the domestic version of the CR-V e:HEV, ahead of its scheduled first deliveries early next year.
Honda provided additional details on how the Japanese-market CR-V differs from its international counterparts. Notably, the lineup features the top-tier Black Edition trim and an optional “Tough Premium” styling package, both designed to give the SUV a more dynamic and refined appearance.

In Japan, the CR-V lineup is streamlined to two variants: the e:HEV RS and the e:HEV Black Edition. This approach is more focused compared to the U.S. market, which offers multiple trims, including the off-road-oriented TrailSport.
The Black Edition stands out with striking Crystal Black cladding along the lower body, darker 19-inch noise-reducing alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and exclusive badge accents on the tailgate. The interior complements this bold exterior with a black headliner, Piano Black accents, and a more subdued, premium ambiance.

Standard features on the CR-V e:HEV RS include a 9-inch infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, wireless charging, a hands-free power tailgate, heated seats, and Honda’s advanced driver-assistance suite, Honda Sensing.

The Black Edition enhances the experience with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a head-up display, and Honda Sensing 360, which offers a wider radar and camera coverage for improved safety and highway assistance, including lane change and overtaking support.
The Japanese CR-V is exclusively offered with Honda’s e:HEV hybrid system, which combines a 2.0-liter engine with two electric motors and an E-CVT. The RS trim offers both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options, while the Black Edition comes standard with AWD.
While Honda has not yet released detailed specifications, the hybrid system in Europe delivers a combined output of approximately 181 horsepower (135 kW / 184 PS).
Despite the simplified trim lineup, buyers have options to personalize their CR-V’s appearance through accessory packages. The “Tough Premium” kit, available for the Black Edition, adds a Luna Silver Metallic bumper insert, rugged side skirts, a Crystal Black Pearl roof spoiler, and black badges, giving the SUV a more adventurous look.
For the standard RS e:HEV, Honda offers the “Urban Premium” package, which provides similar styling enhancements in a darker finish that better matches the body-colored cladding. Additional genuine accessories, including wind deflectors and exterior accents, are expected to expand the customization options.

Honda will start accepting orders on December 12, with first deliveries scheduled for February 2026. Pricing begins at ¥5,122,700 (approximately $33,100) for the e:HEV RS, while the all-wheel-drive Black Edition is priced from ¥5,779,400 (around $37,400).
